Solar and Lunar Dynasties There were two ancient dynasties in India. Other dynasties have sprung from the two. These two dynasties are, Surya Vamsa, the Solar Dynasty and Chandra Vamsa, the Lunar dynasty. Lord Rama belonged to Ikshvaku Dynasty which is the same as Surya Vamsa, Solar Dynasty. Pandavas and Kauravas belonged to Chandra Vamsa,Lunar Dynasty. When one tries to find out the origin of Man Genealogy, and the first pair , one gets stuck, either with Incest or the origin of one of the pair remaining with no visible parentage. I seek the indulgence of the readers for my vagueness in the foregoing sentence. This is to avoid that useless controversy. Those who can read between the lines would understand. Now to the point at hand. If there were two dynasties, then who was the first one; how did the second dynasty come into play;how these two are related? Ikshuvaku

IKSHUVAKU Hello Friends hope you all are good . Here I am going to share very interesting story , which is one of the very first king of the Solar Dynasty , King Ikshvaku. In our Hindu religion , Shraddhadeva Manu is considered the creator of humanity , he had ten son and Ikshuvaku is the one of them. Ikshuvaku was the first king of solar dynasty , known as the “Suryavansha” and the kingdom of kosala in ancient India . Lord Ram belong to Ikshuvaku dynasty . According to Vishnu Purana , king Ikshuvaku had hundred sons , among who the eldest was Vikushi . He had another son name Nimi , founded the kingdom of Videhas . As per the Vedas , Ikshuvaku was the Protector of the five terriotries of Panchajanah , who were non-sacrificing Pre-Aryan and non-Aryan people . The Atharveda and Brahmans associate the Ikshuvakus   with non-Aryan people , that is they are different from the vedic Aryans who composed hymns like Rig Veda. The story i am going to share you the eighth lesson Ravana to Laxman.  The story begin when the demon king Ravana was attacked by Lord Rama and was nearing his death , Rama asked his brother Laxman to go him and learn something which no other person except an erudite Brahmin like Ravana could ever teach him . The story goes that after something the fatal arrow on the battlefield of Lanka , Ram told to his brother , Lakshman , go to Ravana quickly before he dies and request him to share whatever knowledge you can. Maharishi Bhrigu Maharishi Bhrigu was one of the ( Seven Great Sages ) Saptarishi of Vedic Period . He is one of many Prajapati of (creation of God) Brahma. Maharishi Bhrigu   is one of the manas-putra of Brahma . He is also the author of Bhrigu Samhita   . He was the first compiler of predictive astrology , and also the author of Samhita , the astrological (Joytish) classic which was written in Vedic Period . Sage Bhrigu was compatriot of during the period of Manu , who was ancestor of humanity . Maharishi Bhrigu’s Ashram (Hermitage) on Vadhusar River which is the tributary of Drishadwati river which is near to Dhosi Hill in the Vedic state of Brahmavarta , presently on the border of Haryana and Rajasthan in India. Maharishi Bhrigu along with Manu had made important contributions to manusmriti , which was constituted out of a sermon to a congregation of saints in the state of Brahmvarta , after the great floods in this area , nearly   10,000 years ago . Rishi Jamadagni Jamdagni is   one of Saptrishi (Seven Great Sages Rishi) in the seventh current Manvantara .He was a descendant of the sage Bhrigu , one of the Prajapati’s created by Brahma , the God of creation . Jamadagni had five children with wife Renuka , the youngest of two was Parshuram ,sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu .
